Venezuela Import Restrictions
In order to enter Venezuela, certain goods are subject to specific controls and, regardless of their value and quantity, they require the consent of Venezuela government, preferably, license must be obtained prior to passage through the customs, preventing the goods from being retained. On this page, you will see what kinds of items are prohibited from entering the Venezuela, and which items need special documentation before exporting to Venezuela.
Senders should determine import restrictions from Venezuela authorities before posting:
- Alcoholic beverages
- Chemicals, non-hazardous
- Drugs: Prescription and non-prescription
- Firearm and firearm parts
- Personal effects
- Plants and parts of plants.
Venezuela requires an import permit for most commercial goods. Before posting any item, senders should confirm that the addressee has any necessary permit.
EDN’s and export permits are required for:
- Kangaroo skins
- Crocodile skins
- Emu oil
- Fish oil
- Bunker oil
- Petroleum bases products
- Tobacco and tobacco products
- Any other alcohol including beer and spirits all volumes.
Articles containing dutiable goods of the printing trade, such as albums, almanacs, books, brochures, music notes, and printed stationery require an attached C1 green customs form.
The sender and receiver details must be addressed with a valid street address in English. A Post Office Box address is not acceptable.
The sender is responsible for finding if the destination country may impose duties, taxes, brokerage fees or any other fees that may be applied on the item that is being sent. In addition to items prohibited by Dangerous and Prohibited Goods & Packaging Post Guide and ECI International Courier Regulations, Venezuela prohibits:
- Airline tickets, blank stock
- Animals and animal products
- Bullion and currency
- Cigarette paper
- Credit card, blanks
- Drugs and pharmaceutical products of unknown composition
- Dangerous goods, haz or comb. materials
- Jewellery, costume
- Lottery tickets
- Precious stones and metals
- Pornographic material
Ordinary and registered Letters:
Venezuela does not accept ordinary and registered letters containing articles subject to customs duty.
