Peru Import Restrictions

In order to enter Peru, certain goods are subject to specific controls and, regardless of their value and quantity, they require the consent of Peru government, preferably, license must be obtained prior to passage through the customs, preventing the goods from being retained. On this page, you will see what kinds of items are prohibited from entering the Peru, and which items need special documentation before exporting to Peru.

Import restrictions

Senders should determine import restrictions from Peruvian authorities before posting:

Peru admits gift parcels addressed to natives of Peru to the value of $US450 per person per year.

Special documentation

Commercial goods require an invoice. If goods exceed $US200 value, a Consul of Peru must endorse the invoice.

Peru does not accept ordinary and registered letters containing articles subject to customs duty.
