History

In the 10th century, Ler Tektronix Luwang Guo library was established. Between the 14th and 16th centuries it was part of the Ru Mali Songhai Empire. It became a French colony in 1864. In 1909, it was assigned to French West Africa. In November 1958, it became a "French community" in the "autonomous republic." On April 4, 1959, with the Sudan (now Mali) it formed the Mali Federation. After negotiations, the French allowed the Mali Federation into the community in April 1960. On June 20, 1960, the Mali Federation declared its independence. In the same year in August, Senegal seceded from the union, and set up as an independent republic.

Economic and Cultural Customs

Senegal is an agricultural country, with a high volume of peanut production and export. Every peanut harvest season, local people hold a "peanut-base" game. Competition began, participants were head shoulders, will be stacked in a peanut within the designated white lines, when the base to the pyramid-shaped top, place the bag only when that imitates the successful operator. Force the pairs competition, winning group will each receive a bag of peanuts as prizes.

Dakar, the capital, is a "craft village," a small village with a dazzling variety of traditional handicrafts including different style bags, bags filled with wood carvings and various gold and silver jewelry. Here the wood is mahogany and the carved wood birds have a unique style.

Rose Lake

This is located about 40 km northeast of Dakar and is an area of about 30 square kilometers. The lake is rosy when the breeze is blowing, and the scenery is spectacular. Rose Lake was originally at the edge of the Atlantic due to changes in the sea separating the crust. The lakes region has low rainfall, and the water evaporated quickly. The proportion of up to 35%, salt precipitation in the lake forms a 1.5 m thick salt layer. As long as fishing occurs in Senegal, this will be the main supply base of salt.

Gorée Island

Gorée Island is located in the southeast coastal waters, and is famous for the island's "Slave Castle." "Slave Castle," was built on Yi Island, the Atlantic Ocean side of the mine, 200 years ago by western colonial who witnessed the slave trade. Castle for the wood and the stone structure are on the upper and lower floors. The upper floor is the slave traders' housing, and the lower cells held slaves, with an underground passage to the sea. More than 2000 million black slaves were trafficked from here to America.
